The New Jersey Devils have been one of the most consistent NHL teams in recent memory. Yet, they're still incapable of escaping the shadow of every other Big Four team in the New York-Metropolitan Area.

However, the Devils just might have done the one thing that could bring them to the forefront of New York/New Jersey sports. In partnership with William Hill, the Devils will open the first sports venue-based sports betting lounge at the Prudential Center.

As of now, the lounge is expected to feature over 20 screens of live games and will be open for every event at the venue, concerts included. In partnering with William Hill, the Devils are now the second team in the league with a sportsbook sponsorship, the Vegas Golden Knights being the other.

This is not only a trailblazing move by the Devils, but also a financially smart one. The Devils find themselves in a unique position as one of the only Big Four teams in the Tri-state area based in a state where sports gambling is legal, especially with the NFL holding back teams like the Jets and Giants, who also play in New Jersey, on the sport-betting front.

With no other competition, for now, in the New York-Metropolitan market, the Devils can bring in some serious revenue, and maybe a few new fans along the way.
