For the first time ever, the infamous Butt Fumble appears to have played in former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez's favor.
The newest starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins, Sanchez is still asked about that definingly-terrible play from his career that happened more than six years ago. And this week in Washington, he'd clearly heard enough about it.
But that doesn't mean he hasn't figured out how to handle reporters still chasing questions about it with humor and class. It's no secret that Sanchez realizes the embarrassment of the play, but at some point (i.e. more than half a decade later), all you can do is kill them with clever comebacks.
That is exactly what Sanchez did with a joke responding to one reporter's latest question about it with a "some low-hanging fruit, so that was an easy reach for you." But you have to respect both Sanchez's sense of humor and patience with this one.
As for his fantasy value, now is probably not the time to take a flier on the former Jet.
