There are few things more painful to sports bettors than watching a meaningless shot sail into the bucket to cover a point spread. It's even worse than the team you bet on blows a large lead through garbage time. It officially becomes a bad beat when that basket comes in the last few seconds of a game.

But unfortunately for one bettor, that's exactly what we had on our hands in the Butler Bulldogs vs. Seton Hall Pirates men's college basketball matchup with the Pirates as 2.5-point favorites on Wednesday night.

With just three seconds remaining in this Big East showdown, the Pirates were nursing a four-point lead at 76-72. But Butler's Kamar Baldwin wasn't ready to give up on the game just yet, nailing a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lead his Bulldogs to a cover and a 76-75 final score.

However, the buzzer beater gets worse with context. Prior to the last-second make, Baldwin was 0-for-6 from beyond the arc on the night. That's right, the 3-pointer that Baldwin got to fall was the last-second prayer that killed sports bettors riding Seton Hall as 2.5-point favorites.

That's a tough break for this guy, and everyone else who had the Pirates minus the points, to say the least.
